Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategy & Business Development, Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Corporate Strategy Analyst to support multiple aspects of the business. This position plays a key role within the corporate strategy organization focused on business planning and market analysis activities by providing objective, in-depth information on current and future markets, customers, and competitors. The position works closely with Corporate Strategy, Business Development, and New Product Planning members. This is to assess critical business issues and opportunities for growth, and R&D to assess and communicate cross-functional business cases. This role will be focused on driving critical business insights for our leadership team, and partner with stakeholders throughout the company to assess new opportunities and execute on ideas. The successful candidate will embrace being a generalist who uses data to inform recommendation and also have a mind for higher-level strategy.

- Use analytical and statistical techniques to solve complex problems and drive business decisions
- Strong business instincts and fluency in finance, business analytics and valuation methodologies, including key concepts around NPV, IRR, and DCF
- Ability to dive into a valuation model, understand the key value drivers, risks, and opportunities (strong forecasting and financial modelling capability a plus)
- Participate in deal structure discussions and support transaction through modeling of deal terms to inform value split and sensitivity analysis
- Analyze competitive therapeutic landscape from the financial and scientific perspectives
- Proactively monitor, track industry trends, competitive assets on market and in development within therapeutic areas relevant to the organization
- Landscape analysis for potential partners who are strategically aligned with the organization’s vision and pipeline
- Attend industry conferences and webinars to gather relevant competitor insights, and inform the organization on any critical updates
- Identify and reconcile similarities and/or differences of insights gathered from publicly available resources with those gathered internally by market research and internal market analysis
- Support NPP by assisting in development and execution of primary and secondary market research workstreams
- Support Discovery and R&D to quantify and qualify market opportunities for indications of interest
- Support Business Development engagement of potential partners and assist in the deal relationship
- Support management by creating and contributing to presentations and other projects
- Demonstrate cross-functional collaboration within the organization as part of communicating relevant insights to functional groups across the organization

Education and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelors or equivalent degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the life sciences or related industry
- MBA or advanced degree in relevant scientific field preferred (an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered)
- High caliber Excel and PowerPoint skills and due diligence
- Strong analytical skills and broad business understanding of the biotech/pharmaceutical business and R&D process
- Experience interpreting the scientific/regulatory/commercial considerations of drug products and biopharmaceutical companies
- Familiarity with the principles of strategic evaluations and building business cases
- Ability to travel as business requires
- Strong communication skills

Preferred:
- Prior experience in finance, banking, strategy consulting, or business development in the biopharmaceutical or healthcare space is preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. The Anticipated Base Salary Range: $85,000 – $105,000

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
