Meet Elaine

Tell us about yourself, your position, background, motivations.

I am the Associate Director in Drug Product Development in CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls). I am originally from Taiwan and now live in Southern California. I grew up in the pharmacy owned by my parents who are both pharmacists, so I guess it’s fair to say that “drugs” are in my blood! While I didn’t end up being a pharmacist like my parents, I found my passion in pharmaceutics which is to develop active pharmaceutical ingredients into effective and safe medicines. I earned a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from Purdue University in 2012 and have worked in the pharmaceutical industry even since.

What about Crinetics makes you the most excited to work here?

Crinetics has a great pipeline focusing on rare endocrine diseases. Patients with rare diseases often feel alone and unrepresented. I am excited and motivated by the sense of purpose that we are developing life-changing medicines to improve these patients’ lives.

What is your advice on people hoping to join Crinetics?

Crinetics is a place for collaboration with many opportunities for career growth. Be open minded when applying for positions.
