Meet Brian

1. For those that don’t know, what is your position/how does your position impact Crinetics?

I am the Director of Business Development for Crinetics. My role is primarily externally facing, though I do provide an internal advisory and reporting function as well. The short version of what I do is that I source, structure, and negotiate potential transactions that aim to maximize the value of the internal pipeline. So while Med Affairs engages externally with healthcare providers, Patient Advocacy with the patient community, and our IR team with the investor community, all to inform and educate on the work at Crinetics, my role acts in kind to raise awareness among the influencers and decision-makers within the pharma and biotech community about the progress Crinetics is making towards bringing our pipeline of therapies to market and guiding expectations on the value of their impact.

2. Tell me about yourself: family, pets, hobbies, music selections?

I am a native San Diegan, born here at Scripps Mercy in Hillcrest, but I spent almost all of my childhood growing up in Manhattan Beach, CA in LA County. Undergrad brought me back to San Diego where I attended Muir College at UCSD and studied physiology and neuroscience. I doubled down on my UCSD education and also got my MBA from the Rady School there. With my wife, Candi, and our son, Harrison (4), we enjoy frequent visits to the Zoo and Safari Park, proximity to extended family, walks around Bay-Ho with our dog Codi (13), and lifelong friends that happen to live in the neighborhood. My passions for the culinary arts and photography have been easily integrated into family life, while golf offers the occasional welcome retreat with friends and colleagues.
