Position Summary:
 
As Director of Marketing, you will report directly to the Senior Director of Marketing and be responsible for developing strategy and tactics that will lead to a successful launch of Paltusotine in Acromegaly.  Your role will be to support pre-launch market development initiatives, drive critical activities per our launch strategy, and lead execution of the launch plan upon FDA approval. You will be responsible for development and execution of core branded assets including the marketing campaigns for HCPs and patients, Core Sales Aid, branded and unbranded websites and digital marketing tactics.  Cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Medical Affairs and Value & Access teams will be a critical responsibility in ensuring well-coordinated execution of the launch plan.  Externally this leader will support our efforts to develop Crinetics’ position as a leader in endocrinology by building strong relationships with the patient community and advocacy organizations, and Key Opinion Leaders.  
 
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
These may include but are not limited to:
  • Drive execution of marketing strategies, tactics, and activities for the US launch of Paltusotine in Acromegaly.
  • Support brand planning, including situation analysis, competitive landscape, strategic priorities, and tactical launch plan.
  • Support brand positioning and message platform development as part of core launch-planning activities.
  • Work collaboratively with analytics team to gather key market insights from HCPs and patients.
  • Ensure implementation of campaigns which integrate all appropriate marketing channels, including HCP personal promotions, patient marketing, digital, interactive, and online media.
  • Work with field facing teams including sales and Thought Leader Liaisons to ensure critical customer insights are consistently and iteratively incorporated into marketing initiatives. 
  • Manage relationships with creative agencies; Manage expenditures within budget guidelines.
  • Focus on immediate and short-term (<2 years) strategic planning horizon.
  • Lead materials through Medical Legal Regulatory (MLR) to ensure adherence to compliance guidelines.
  • Establish metrics and track program effectiveness and ROI regarding the launch.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
 
Education and Experience:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-rated, marketing and/or life sciences field required.
  • A minimum of 12 years of pharmaceutical marketing and sales experience across multiple disease areas, and a minimum of 8 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong track record with product launch planning as well as experience in creatively accelerating brand uptake and overcoming barriers to commercial success.
  • Experience across marketing functions including personal promotions, digital multichannel marketing, patient marketing, and strategic planning.
  • Experience working with market research partners to develop market research studies including concept testing, market assessments etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage innovation and creative thinking to drive results.
  • Strong collaboration skills, both within commercial teams and cross functional teams including Medical, Access, Finance, Legal and Regulatory.
  • Proven communication and presentation skills evidenced by successful executive-level presentations.
  • A deep familiarity with regulatory and pharmaceutical legal promotional review processes.
 
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. Travel:
You may be required to travel for up to 50% of your time.
 
The Anticipated Base Salary Range:  $190,000 – $228,000
In addition to your base pay, our total rewards program consists of a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401k match. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
