Position Summary:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to guide the execution of Crinetics’ business development strategy. The business development function plays a critical role in the strategic growth of Crinetics by leading partnering initiatives and executing various types of transactions to shape our pipeline, accelerate growth and ultimately enable our programs to reach patients. Your role will identify and drive the evaluation and execution of partnering opportunities alongside our internal subject matter experts. This will require strategic relationship management both internally and externally, effective time management, creative problem solving, and a thorough approach to diligence. The ideal candidate works effectively in a cross-functional team while also progressing projects independently and wants to work on impactful strategic projects. 
 
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
These may include but are not limited to: 
  • Source, screen and track business development opportunities that are aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Support evaluation of business development opportunities and potential company strategies.
  • Coordinate input and feedback from other functions as part of business development evaluation.
  • Develop and present robust financial models in Excel to value projects and terms.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with potential partners within both pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
  • Serve as a visible external liaison for the company at partnering events and industry conferences and effectively communicates company’s partnering objectives and capabilities.
  • Attends partnering and industry conferences related to therapeutic area of interest.
  • Monitors and advises on competitive intelligence and relevant developments in key indications and therapeutic areas of interest.
  • Develop deep knowledge of market landscapes and trends, major product developments, trial outcomes, and company activity in the relevant areas of interest. 
 
Education and Experience:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, finance or related field required with 8 years’ of healthcare consulting, biopharma, investment banking or venture capital experience. 
  • Master’s in Business Administration or a PhD is preferred.
  • Experience developing financial analysis and valuation of biopharma products and companies using advanced excel/modeling skills.
  • Proven experience successfully supporting the scientific and business evaluation of technologies, assets, or biotech companies.
  • A collaborative, strategic mind-set with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to drive projects forward independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience preparing and delivering presentations to senior management.
  • Strong knowledge of biopharma industry, drug discovery, development, regulatory and commercialization processes. 
 
Physical Demands and Work Environment: 
Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. Travel: 
You may be required to travel for up to 5% of your time. 
 
The Anticipated Base Salary Range: $122,000-$162,000 
In addition to your base pay, our total rewards program consists of a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401k match. We also provide top-notch health insurance plans for employees (and their families) to include medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance, 20 days of PTO, 10 paid holidays, and a winter company shutdown. 
 
The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
