Position Summary:
Business Solution Manager for G&A.  The role of the Senior Director, G&A IT is to evolve and grow the Crinetics technology applications and technology platforms used throughout the G&A (HR, Acct, Legal, etc) functions through strategy, process improvement, feature expansion, new product ideas, design, and implementation of innovative solutions. This role will effectively lead business facing application[MM1]  projects by collaborating with all G&A functions, internal IT teams, and external partners/vendors to ideate, develop and deliver strategic solutions. In addition, this role is responsible for leading the deployment and adoption of the Crinetics HRIS, Legal, and Financial applications/platforms. Successful candidates will have the combination of senior level G&A IT leadership experience, business acumen, strategic IT alignment, project management capabilities, product management skills, and technical expertise.   Will have also led the implementation of enterprise scale G&A focused applications (HRIS, ERP, etc).
 
Position Location: Onsite role in San Diego, CA
 
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
These may include but are not limited to:
  • Create long-term, multi-year strategic roadman for applications, services, and systems to support all Crinetics G&A functions
  • Develop and document detailed project timelines, identifying key points of intersection for different stakeholder groups
  • Lead the build out and operational support efforts (aligned with the Operations Team) of our G&A IT Infrastructure
  • Develop and manage the G&A IT budget and align with the overall IT and G&A functions
  • Coordinate, implement, and communicate G&A business needs into technical requirements and use cases
  • Lead the implementation of HRIS, Expense Management, Data Warehouse, and other technology projects in the G&A space
  • Advise G&A functions by providing technical and strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities that can be enhanced with technology
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of data integrations within and external to G&A functions
  • Ensure application and technology investments support[MM2]  business objectives and applicable regulatory guidelines
  • Lead initiatives to analyze complex business processes within G&A to be solved with automated systems, including AI/ML
  • Be a subject matter expert for both application and data integration within the G&A function
  • Solicit external expert input and evaluate technical design options when required
  • Plan, manage and control the activities of a team that provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and processes
  • Identify gaps and provide technical expertise in business requirements for system functional specifications and scale new and current systems, processes and procedures to meet business requirements
  • Configure system settings and options; plan and execute unit, integration and acceptance testing to meet Crinetics business requirements
  • Build, manage, coach and mentor direct reports to develop their career growth
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Education and Experience:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in LifeScience, Information Technology or Computer Science, Masters preferred
  • 15+ years operational or systems support experience in an environment that has significant technical infrastructure
  • 12+ years of leading high functioning, matrixed teams delivering high value solutions to G&A functions (HR, Finance/Acct, etc) within LifeScience organizations
  • 5+ years experience in implementing and supporting HRIS Systems
  • Experience acting as liaison between G&A functions and technical teams in a Commercial stage biotech/pharma organization
  • Have delivered a large transformational project to a G&A business function within a Pharmaceutical/Biotech organization
  • Proactive problem solving and project management skills
  • Strong relationship building skills with senior leaders in HR, Acct, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven track record of clear and practical judgment
  • Able to multi-task in a busy business environment
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to shifting priorities
  • Highly accountable and self-motivated
  • Constant drive for improvement
  • Experience with Waterfall and agile software development methodologies
  • Deep understanding of application and systems architecture with ability to develop and implement systems consistent with enterprise architectural standards
 
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. Travel:
You may be required to travel for up to 5% of your time.
 
The Anticipated Base Salary Range:  $180,000 – $240,000
In addition to your base pay, our total rewards program consists of a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401k match. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education.
