Omar Hamdy joined Crinetics as chief of staff to the CEO in 2023, in support of achieving corporate goals and leading the company’s Portfolio Strategy Team, focused on product strategies and advancing Crinetics’ deep pipeline.

Prior to joining Crinetics, he held increasing levels of responsibility at Applied Molecular Transport in leading the program management and portfolio strategy team and driving immunology assets through clinical development. Before that, Dr. Hamdy held project management roles and scientific positions in oncology drug discovery at AbbVie and Stemcentrx (later purchased by AbbVie).

He holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University California, Riverside and a master’s degree in business administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
