Position Summary:
The Associate Director, Business Insights and Analytics, will leverage market knowledge and modeling expertise to generate in-depth, customer-focused analytical insights, articulate actionable recommendations, and drive critical business decisions. Working closely with Commercial, Marketing, Finance and Sales Analytics, this person will be responsible for designing and executing advanced statistical analyses and customized forecast models. This individual will also help identify key drivers and performance metrics to explain variance to performance, brand goals, and sales results. This position will have regular interaction with Commercial and Senior Leaders and require an ability to present sophisticated analysis to individuals with a wide variety of backgrounds.
 
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
These may include but are not limited to:
  • Perform advanced statistical analyses with market knowledge and modeling expertise to identify patterns within the data, uncover insights/brand opportunities and articulate actionable recommendations.
  • Maintain all forecasts for our commercial launch products including drug assets in Phase II & III.
  • Work with stakeholders to align on assumptions for multiple forecast scenarios.
  • Support brand planning and strategy through measuring KPIs, MCM & OMNI channel analysis.
  • Conduct secondary data and behavioral analyses of HCPs, Patients, and Payers to understand influences and drivers of business performance (e.g., HCP/Payer Targeting, Source of Business Analysis, etc.).
  • Enable senior management to make informed, data-based driven decisions by providing business analysis and analytical support, particularly in areas where data is difficult to assess/unreliable and a high level of analytical skill is required.
  • Partner with the Market Research lead to track and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that are aligned with strategy and partner to design and work to develop standard reports.
  • Partner with the head of Commercial Insights to articulate and present updates on commercial performance to Senior Leaders.
  • Contribute to the evaluation, analysis, and integration of available data sources such as secondary market audits (Symphony Health claims, etc.), epidemiology data/reports, sales analytics & financial data, competitive intelligence, and syndicated prescription and unit data (IQVIA, etc.).
 
Education and Experience:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, or related field. A Master’s degree (MBA) is strongly preferred.
  • 12 years of professional experience with 7 years of related experience working in marketing sciences, forecasting, or business analytics function within a biotech/pharmaceutical company or consulting firm.
  • Applied experience in developing and maintaining robust forecasting models and thorough understanding of various time-series and patient-based forecasting techniques.
  • Deep expertise in generating commercial insights from large transactional data sets.
  • Possess a strong understanding of industry secondary data and syndicated sources and their strength and weaknesses.
  • Experience with forecast and data analytic software like Flexicast, Forecast Pro, Crystal Ball, Tableau a plus.
  • Experience with launch brands highly desired.
  • Experience with longitudinal patient, specialty pharmacy/hub data preferred.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, distill information to essential knowledge, develop business- relevant strategic recommendations, and persuasively present to a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous situations and determine focused objectives and a clear path forward in the face of open questions.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
 
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. Laboratory Activities (if applicable): Biology and chemical laboratory environment experience needed. Environmental health and safety requirements also apply.
 
Travel:
You may be required to travel for up to 5% of your time.
 
The Anticipated Base Salary Range:  $140,000-$186,000
In addition to your base pay, our total rewards program consists of a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401k match. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
