Meet Carole
Tell us about yourself!
My professional career covers a wide array of positions including receptionist, administrative assistant, and executive assistant in a variety of fields. I have worked for state and county governments, a military contractor, a major utility company, radio, tv, commercial real estate, an event center/arena, and a sports team. It has been exciting to learn the specialized programs for the various fields and acquiring new skills as technology evolves. I have loved the variety of the work and personal interactions.
I am Crinetics’ first “official” Receptionist. While I still answer the phone, I miss greeting our guests and employees. I enjoy assisting our guests, making them welcome and assuring they have what they need. A big part of my job is assisting with administrative tasks for Facilities and Operations. These tasks include scheduling maintenance/calibration of lab equipment; making sure the various government permits are current; assuring that our vendors are up-to-date with their insurance requirements; updating multiple spreadsheets; and facilitating new hire Safety Training.
What about Crinetics makes you the most excited to work here?
It is the people. Crinetics is the best company that I have worked for. Considering my many job experiences, that is saying a lot. I like how everyone is excited about helping to improve the lives of patients. This brings an energy to the organization that makes it fun and gratifying to work here. It has been said that “it’s not a job, it’s a purpose.” Additionally, how many companies have an entire dog wall to honor their pups?
I am proud to work at Crinetics with people who are enormously intelligent, kind, and like to have fun. In the 2 1/2 years that I have worked for Crinetics, the team has doubled in size to advance the development of novel therapeutics for rare endocrine diseases. The growth and accomplishments are remarkable.
What is your advice on people hoping to join Crinetics?
If you are extended an offer, take it. It feels like winning the lottery.
What is your personal motto?
To understand ask, “Why?”
To dream ask, “Why not?”
Do not complain and do not explain!
